Thanks for this. It helps to feel validation from a neurologist regarding positive changes you can make in diet and staying active. I’ve been a lifelong vegetarian and avoid processed foods, but when I was diagnosed last year decided to add a few supplements (D, B12, turmeric, omega3s, probiotics) and avoid gluten. These changes may seem excessive to some of my friends and family, but why wouldn’t I try to include healthful changes as supplementary therapy in addition to my DMT?
One thing I’ve noticed having attended several luncheons sponsored by major MS drug companies is that of my fellow company, often 50+ community members also with MS, I’m always the only person having to special request a vegetarian meal. I would think that this option would be readily mentioned by the health care guest speakers and requested by the attendees.
